Unit Structure | Senior Members
| The members
of the Order of Malta Crumlin Unit would like to welcome you to our unit website. The
purpose of this website is to highlight the activities, objectives and workings of our
unit. We would like to thank the residents of our local community and the members from
neighbouring units of the Ambulance Corps for all their help and support, as without this
support we would not be in a position to be of assistance to others. All objectives
undertaken by the members of the Crumlin Unit are undertaken in a voluntary capacity.

The Crumlin Unit was formally inaugurated
on the 30th May 1980 by Commander Dr. Malachy Powell, KM. who was Director of the
Ambulance Corps at that time, and Dr. Peter Baron von Fürstenberg, KM.
The founder of
the unit, Kevin Cunnane K.M (pictured right), now Chancellor to the Ambulance Corps,
formed the Crumlin Unit back in 1980 with the commencement of a First Aid Course which
resulted in new members being enrolled into the unit on the 3rd April 1980.

The Crumlin Unit is responsible for
providing First Aid cover at local & national events, facilitating First Aid &
Home Nursing Courses to Industry and
members of the community and providing transportation to the disabled & housebound. We

administrated by the Cadet Leaders, who are appointed by the officer in charge after
obtaining their youth leadership warrant. From early beginnings
and to this date, the Crumlin Unit have provided the less fortunate members of our
community with transportation to Sunday mass every week.
The Crumlin Unit meets weekly on
Tuesday nights in our Headquarters, which is located at Core Hall, St. Agnes Road,
Crumlin, Dublin 12.

To
promote personal and spiritual development of our members through leadership, training and
